AIP(approval in principle) on the letter it says "you have been determined to be eligible for PR application", and normally you can start counting 10 months from that day to complete DM(or 2nd step..decision made)provided no missing /delay of requested document from your end.....and , your family size doesn't affect the processing time at all, however if you have overseas family members included in your application , they will share the same timeline of yours but will be processed at the Canadian embassy abroad
no, the family members overseas don't share your timeline, but it's the other way around, you share their timeline as it depends on how busy the Canadian embassy is in processing visas. Once they are approved, you all approved.

Lol...how come if you are basically the sponsor!!!! its my case and around 7 friends having the same case.....once you receive the (AIP) CIC give you instructions for overseas members, then you have to apply for those members at nearest designated embassy (by mail), after some time the principal applicant (eldest member) will be given an application number starts with (G),,,,if you check his online status you will see that they share your timeline.
you need to understand that the embassy will consider their application only ,based on your (approval in principle letter) , embassies PR processing is linked with CANADA CIC
