Hello everyone,
I wanted to share my personal experience here since it has been asked several times in this forum before.
I just completed my landing at the airport of Montréal. The problem was that my COPR was sent to my address in Montréal while I was on vacation abroad. However, if you are from a visa-exempt country, it is possible to land without your COPR at hand. You hence have the following options:
(1) Someone gets your COPR from your mailbox and hands it to the officers at the customs explaining the situation. They will bring it to the immigration office.
(2) Bring two pictures along (follow the photo requirements). The officers are able to reprint your COPR at the airport since they have access to CAIPS. As soon as you have "Decision Made", they can access your COPR in their system. They even told me they would be able to take the pictures right at the office if you don't have any at hand.
I went with option 1 (even though I had extra pictures at hand for option 2 - just in case). My boyfriend collected my mail and handed my COPR to the officers at the customs when he picked me up from the airport. When I arrived at the immigration office, they already had my COPR on their desk. So if you are in a similar situation, this will save you time and money to drive to the border.
