hello to every one
i got immigration in oct2009 and l landed with my wife and kids in canada on nov2009 after two months i got seprated from my wife ,my marriage took place in pakistan and marriage last for five years and i had two kids with that wife . i traveld back to pakistan and i divorce my wife in pakistan in feb2010( becuase i had spent only two months in canada and my marriage did not take place in canada), i could not apply for divorce according to canadian divorce law which says divorcee must spend one whole year in canada before applying divorce in canada or marriage must took place in canada .i just want to know that i followed the right procedure as according to canadian law i was unable to divorce my wife in canada and my wife and i did not want to wait for one year to apply divorce.and i want to know my divorce is acceptable in canada or i still have to waite one year to marry again and sponsor my future wife..

I think once you sponsor someone (spouse) you are responsible for them financially in Canada for 3 years. You are not elligible to sponser another spouse until this time elapses. Getting a divorce does not free you of this obligation.

You just got divorced about 5 months ago and you are asking if you can sponsor a new wife?Your divorce may be recgonized by the Canadian Law if you have ties to your home country family there, property there or such.

The divorce may be acceptable.
But if you divorce your first wife 2 months after landing in Canada, and then get married to a new wife only a few months later and try to sponsor her, the visa officer processing your new wife's file is going to be very suspicious. The visa officer will probably think that at least one of the marriages was a marriage of convenience, or that you were already separated from your first wife when you landed, and so should have told immigration. If the first marriage was actually already over when you landed, but you didn't inform the border/immigration officials, you will be found guilty of misrepresentation, and can be removed from Canada. The visa officer will probably also question the legality of the divorce in Canada. At the very least, the new sponsorship will probably be refused and have to go to appeal. You might win the appeal, but appeals typically take a year or more before they are heard.
Frankly, if I were you, I would wait the full year and get a divorce in Canada. Then marry your new wife.

Your divorce may very well be found to be legal in Canada, but after a sponsorship refusal, a year of waiting - or more - for the appeal, and a lot of legal expenses.

How did you immigrate to Canada, by the way? Did your wife sponsor you, did you sponsor her, or did you come in under the skilled worker class?
