Hi all, I have a question in regard to getting a divorce while I am in the process applying of the sponsorship by husband.
If I am file to be divorce will I still be able to process my application? I am at the stage where they are asking me for the criminal records.
If I give up the sponsorship. Will that affect me applying the citizenship again in the future? :'(

If your divorcing your husband and he's your sponsor then you'll have to contact the CIC and tell them. Your application will be declined if you carry on with the process and they find out you are divorced.
Thats of my knowledge anyway, you'll have to check the CIC website just to be sure

Based on your previous emails your husband is sponsoring you for PR. If you divorce, then you will no longer qualify to be sponsored through family class and will not receive PR. So to answer your question - no, you will not still be able to process your application.

If you still wish to become a PR of Canada you will have to find a different means of immigrating (e.g. as a skilled worker or through one of the provincial nominee streams).
