Divorce Decree - sponsorship for parent who is divorced

For those applicants of sponsorship for divorced parent, have you been asked for your parent's divorce decree by CIC? If yes, at which stage did they ask?

My parent is in China and all she has is a certification of divorce (in Chinese). Should I nortarise it in English and Chinese? Will that be good enough?
