Divorce and PR under CEC

This for one of my friend he is ready to apply for PR and he qualifies under CEC
He is in the way of getting a divorce what are the options available for him
1. Should he wait until he gets a Divore
2. Should he apply now and then send CIC divorce certificate showing his current marital status

He should wait till his divorce is finalized.

You do understand, his wife may not agree to sign the application form, creating more problem for him.
So it is wise to finalize their problem first and then, get in to PR program.

Sorry this is not true.It has nothing to do with his wife. I was in exact same situation. He can go ahead and apply now and later send the divorce certificate. If they are separated,all he needs at this moment is to attach a document that shows they are legally separated. Does you friend reside in Canada at the moment?
