My and my Canadian girlfriend got married back in 2019 after 6 to 8 months of the relationship. I got my PR IN 2020 NOV( TO BE PRECISE). However, in the past year even before I got my PR, Our marriage starts going on a toxic track. It is becoming too toxic that we fight more than we talk to each other. Now, we both thinking of splitting up and getting divorced. It is a mutual decision we both want this so that we can go on our way.

I am thinking about what and how it will affect my PR and citizenship. Will anyone can help me?

There will be no impact on your citizenship as long as there's no doubt about getting your PR. If you meet the requirements in terms of days in Canada (1095), your security clearance is in good standing and your 3 years of tax declaration as well.

You can divorce her without any issue if you think such a mutual decision is fine for both of you.

What about the PR, after divorce will i be able to retain my Pr?

Provided it was a genuine marriage, you're good.

They won't be worried too much about the marriage if there is no doubt and the relationship was genuine. So be prepared though since questions may be asked during the interview right after the citizenship test.

Once again your PR status won't be impacted if there was no proof of a convenience marriage and the relationship was genuine.
Keep everything in good order, proof of the bills, trip, passport, tickets, rent, insurance since the dating until divorce. So that you can submit them to citizenship officers if needed. Be prepared since this process could bring a lot of surprises.
