Hi,
I married in Pakistan and my husband has arrived in Canada now. It has come to divorce because we cannot live together. He has just arrived but complications were occuring throughout. He is not living with me and I need advice on how to get a divorce fast. How long will a divorce take in this situation? will an islamic divorce be better first and then a legal canadian divorce? if i want to get married again in Canada, how long do i have to wait? I am very confused but need help fast. thank you.

I would say try to sort out things with im first. Legally you are responsibe for him since you have sponsored him you have signed an agreement to take care of him financially. I would highly recommend not taking the lawyer route. I am sure you both are mature, please try resolving this by yourselves. Good luck

From what I know, there is no fast divorce in Canada. you have to be separated for at least 1 year before the divorce is approved, unless it is special case like domestic violence or adultery. You can re-marry after your divorce is approved. I also agree with Maxvol's comments above. Marriage can take time to stabilize, if you are newly married, do consider giving it a year or two.
