Hi guys,

I was on disability majority of years 2013 and 2014, in addition took unpaid leave from March to May 2015. Got married in March 2015 and in the process of filling out the application right now.

But I am scared that when they see my Option C print outs for the last two years they will see I had not made much money because I was on disability. My private insurance through my employer was paying me for the time I was away so I never had any issues financially and by God's grace have enough savings but I am still scared that they might say you are not making enough?

I am not supposed to show the money I received from insurance on my tax returns so they won't know that I had been getting paid even when I was not working.

Any suggestions as to how I can make up for that? Perhaps write a letter explaining that I am back at work and expect to be making a good enough salary? Or should I say that I live with my parents and hence do not have much in terms of expenses and also they will be helping me out in case I need it?

Please help!!

There are no income requirements for sponsoring a spouse. Be sure you adivse CIC that you are now currently back to work and that that disability was only temporary, if needed, get a signed letter from your employer stating this fact. You should be fine.

Good luck!

Ok. I just thought it will be because they require the option C print out from CRA which must be to check your income.....
