My company gave me a scanned copy of the reference letter of my experience. I believe that for EE you only need to upload the scanned copy but is there any kind of verification held later on which checks for original reference letter on company letter head? For that purpose, I'll have to ask them for physically mailing me the document. Please help!

Hi,

Yes, you have to ask for the original document because you need to present this document to CIC upon arrival.
So keep your original documents with you.

Best regards,S9

May I know what all documents would I require apart from this one so that I can ask for all of them at one shot.

Thanks

IRCC never requests for your reference letter on arrival. But it's good to have the hard copy with you whether IRCC ask or not.

Can't I just present the print out of the letter at that time?
You can. But tell me, would you like any original document that's supposed to be in your possession, actually in someone else's hands? For eg, would you willingly leave your degree certificates with your company?

I already have original payslips, offer letter and relieving letter with me but I have to specially ask them to mail me the reference letter. I'm not even sure if they will agree.

They should, because it's your document. If you're still facing an issue, you can ask someone you know who is still working there to collect it on your behalf and mail it to you. This is what I'd do if I were you. That document would be important to me, not just for Canada migration, but in general as well (if you're applying for license, you'd need that)

Please know that you don't need the original reference letter for any purposes, as far as I can remember. I never had mine from companies which was not from my current country of residence. Yes, it is good if you can get the original mailed to you. If not, don't fret over it. You will never require the original reference letter for any other purposes in Canada. When you are looking for a job, you only have to give the contacts of the references and the company will reach out to your contacts.

You have to have all the documents that you submitted to CIC during your PR application. Most of the time they won't ask for the documents but it is always safe to have them with you.

I second that. What is the harm being a bit over-cautious rather than being sorry later?
I'll try my best to get it.

I'm going to University of Toronto for masters and have already got Student VISA. My CRS score might have a chance of getting a PR, so I thought I should apply for the same. If I get the PR in the middle of studies, my cost of second year will reduce a lot. Regarding contacts of references, I don't think I need it because I'm changing my stream of work for now. I'm not sure what exactly you meant by `other purposes in Canada`. Could you please elaborate.

I just meant you don't need the original doc, that's all.
