Hello Everyone,

I had a question regarding the digital photo required for the PR application. The IRCC website clearly states the dimensions and specifications to follow for the digital photo here https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/new-immigrants/pr-card/apply-renew-replace/photo.html
I got the picture taken by a professional and have a soft copy as well (50x70 mm). But I read somewhere else that the final frame size should be 35x45 mm (420x540 pixels). Can anyone please let me know?

Many thanks in advance

Technically both works if both are as per the facial measurement standards.

Back of photo in Online Application is not required. Its only meant for Paper based applications.

Hello ,

this is probably a dumb question but wanted to ask anyways.

do you guys know which photo is used to issue PR card ?

I was asked to submit soft copy when I submitted my application at the very beginning and a hard copy when I sent my passport for visa stamping.

You have to upload just the photo side. Not the back side.

for the soft copy, only front side is required.

For the hard copy, it should have the stamp of the photographer on the back.

Hi Guys,

I have submitted photo for e-APR in PDF format ( dimensions are as expected and the 31x36mm from crown is met). Though, they mentioned they accept Jpg and Jpeg2000 format, they did not mention PDF is not accepted. Please let me know , how to rectify this. Or is it ok ? I hope for photo they will not reject application in R10 Stage (since I submitted in PDF instead of Jpeg)
Is it advisable to raise webform and submit photos in JPG now or shall I wait?

Thanks

Photo will not cause any rejections. If you want, you can submit the photos in JPEG format through a webform.

You have to upload just the photo side. Not the back side.
But in our profile, when we click on the question number they ask for studio stamp and date when photo was taken .

This is how it shows...

Temporary residents (students, workers, visitors), Express Entry and Canadian citizenship certificate
  • The photo must show a full front view of the head and tops of shoulders, with the face in the middle of the photo.
  • Size of the head, from chin to crown, must be between 31mm and 36mm.
  • Image size: at least 420 x 540 pixels.
  • We accept JPEG or JPEG2000 format.
  • File size: approximately 240 kB, no more than 4 MB.
  • Image must be in colour (24 bits per pixel) in RGB colour space, the common output for most digital cameras.
Temporary residents and Express Entry
  • The final frame size of the photo must be at least 35mm x 45mm.
  • If you scan an existing photo, the minimum resolution must be 600 pixels per inch.

I can't find "studio stamp" and "date" in what you have posted here.
