Hi all,

I'm applying for a temporary visa to visit Canada and I need to upload a digital photo to complete the application. The guidelines say the head should be between 31mm and 36mm but the minimum dimensions of the photo must be 420x540.

Is this not a physical impossibility unless you have your full body in the picture? 420x540 is far too big for a head which has to be that small.

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Read the instructions more carefully. The 420X540 is the minimum requirement in ppi. The 31 X 36 requirement for head size is for a photo that is 35X45 mm in size. Also remember that these total size requirements (35X45 mm or 420X540 ppi) are the minimum requirements. You can make the photo bigger than this size by conserving the same ratio. Refer to the following page for the guidelines:

Earlier CIC had requirement to have photographer stamp (mentioning photographer address & date when photo was taken) at the back of 1 photo but now i don't see that requirement.
So it means we don't need photographer stamp at all?
Do you think still we should write date when photo was taken at the back?
Please advice how you are applying your TRV application?

If you are applying from online, you do not need to show the back of the photo.
