My arabic last name is different on my passport and on my diplomas/wes, will it make a huge difference? It's a letter change but the pronunciation is the same. I wasn't worried but answers on this forum made me question if I should fix something first.

Be cool you don't have to worry for this
I was also in the same problem.

Below is the exact what I have written in LOE (letter of explanation)
but you will have to create a name affidavit for this and attach in LOE

Different surname spelling
On my educational, government and personal document my surname is mentioned as “Hamed" and
“Hamid” respectively. The difference is with the letter “E” and "I", but both the surnames are pronounced same.
When applied for these documents my name was written in Arabic and later translated to English which resulted in this
discrepancy in my surname. As this being the case I have prepared a name affidavit and have attached it along
with this letter.

Yes exactly my issue. I wasn't worried but too many people commented on last names that I questioned myself. Spending too much time on this forum can backfire. I'll do what you did! Thanks!

On safe side, Get the one and the same person affidavit.....search the forum for more info. I was suggested this by Asivad (very senior member)....worked for me.
