Hi Guys,

I am looking to apply as a Federal Skilled Worker.
My Federal Skilled Worker Points Grid: 70

So I have just started looking into this and already facing a bit of a roadblock.

I had one job with my employer from September 2016 to December 2017.
I was then promoted and continued working with them from December 2017 to August 2019.
I have now moved on and am in a completely different industry August 2019 - present..

I've got over three years of continuous work experience now, however not sure if I can use this.

My questions:
1. Does my first two jobs September 16 to August 19 equal 3 years or am I just a little short? This would save me from having to include my current job.
2. Regardless of 1, I will have different NOCs, does the system allow that or am I not gonna get anywhere? Basically I need 3 years to get the extra 50 points for Work x Language!

There are two things here:
The Minimum entry criteria (MEC)
CRS points

For MEC, You must have at least one year, in the last ten years before you submit your electronic application for permanent residence, of continuous full-time work experience (or the equivalent in continuous part-time work) in a skilled occupation listed in Skill Type 0, or Skill Level A or B.

Your skilled work experience must be in the same type of job (have the same NOC) as the job you want to use for your immigration application (called your primary occupation).

This is what will give you your eligibility points. If you have 3 years in the same NOC, it's 11 points.

Now for CRS score, you can get 50 points with CLB 9 for 3 years of workex.

Rather than focusing on your job, do more research on your NOC and how many years you have worked on that.

1. The system calculates CRS based on month so it'll probably give you 3 years. However depending on the exact dates you worked, say, if it was Sep 30 2016 to Aug 1 2019, then technically you would be short of 3 years and there's a chance visa officer will adjust your score accordingly.
2. Yes you can combine NOCs for CRS purpose as long as you meet the eligibility requirements for FSW
