Hi Everyone,

In one of the CIIP sessions, we were briefed about Community Colleges and Universities degrees / courses having no difference in terms of value. Is this true? Im looking particularly at Toronto Area. I am arriving on April as an Immigrant.

Secondly, which is the best college or university in Toronto to get my Project Management certification done, Humber or Sheridan or Centennial or University of Toronto, in terms of value, to an employer. That is ofcourse, before I take up PMP Certification.

Cheers
Sam

Having lived in Toronto and worked in business all of my life - I completely disagree. University degrees / certificates are far more highly valued by employers than college diplomas / certificates.

As a Supervisor and a Hiring Manager in an Financial institute, I can say that where you get your degree from is of absolute NO interest to us. Your performance on the interview room and your past experience is all that matters. However, if you are trying to become an CA or an Actuary, or a work in the Risk dept, then it really does matter as to where you graduate from and your grades.
