Difference between CEC and FSW???

Hi

Please tell me difference between CEC and FSW. I hace gone thru canada immigration forum, but somewhere the confusion still persists.
I am currently in India,(Indian ) and I have 2 years of work exp as a sofware engineer.

CEC - is for people who have lived in canada for a while on temporary visas and want to go for permanent residency visas.

FSW - is for Federal Skilled Workers who wants to obtain Permanent residency visas.
