Hello gurus,
Please help me in understanding the differences between the FSW and Provincial programs (ex: AINP).
Assuming I qualify to apply for both FSW and AINP (Strategic Recruitment Stream U.S. Visa Holder Category), I see that AINP might take less time than FSW.
My question is: What happens after I am approved under AINP ? Am I stuck to work in Alberta or whatever province I apply for ? I searched to find in many forums..but in vain.
Pl help me out.

Thanks a bunch.

I have the same doubt. If I qualify under the FSW points-based system (or so do I think!), then is it recommended to go with AINP/H-1B or the FSW? I agree that the FSW takes longer, probably double the time, but how do the two processes compare?

I am guessing that AINP would have a requirement of living in Alberta for x number of years after you get the PR, as opposed to FSW under which you should be open to live anywhere in Canada.

Thanks!

OK Canada is a Federal Country with a Federal Immigration law applying to the whole country except Quebec which is a nation within a United Canada,Each Province is allowed by the Canadian Constitution to make its own immigration Law applying to that province as long as it is not contradicting Federal Law,If approved under AINP you have to try and settle in Alberta,If it does not work out after a couple of months, you can move. After all Alberta s Nomination allowed you to jump the line. But you are not stuck in AB.

No such requirement,Just landing in AB and trying to settle there ,If things dont work out like you cant find a job there after a few months you move somewhere else

Thanks for the response, BCGuy.

The reason I am still confused is because someone else on another forum posted this --

On going a little further with this PNP process, I saw the fine print - You have to live and work in Alberta for a minimum of 2 years to become free to go wherever you want within Canada.

So guys - there is a bond, do not miss it out!

So I am not sure where to go and find this information for a fact. May be on one of the AINP forms?!

I work with the BC Goverment and have frequent dealings with the AB goverment,The commitment is to land and TRY to live and settle in AB

Oh okay, then I guess I will trust you more than the others! :)
Thanks for the information.

BTW, does BC have a PNP program also? From what I know, they do, but not like an open one like AINP where you can apply even without a job offer.

Oh okay, that's what I thought!
Thank you for the confirmation. :)
