I paid the fees $1040 for immigration on behalf of my husband who is in india..he doesnt have a credit card..so he tranferrd the money to me here and I paid online through credit card.
Now, I accidentally put my name and address on the receipt IMM 5401
is this incorrect???
should i have put his information on there?
i am totally freakin out right now :(
what should i do??

The sponsor's information goes on the receipt, so if you are the sponsor you were right.

I am the applicant and I paid for the fees, and I put my husband's name as the Sponsor for the information asked.

Did you put CASE NUMBER (Client ID) as well?
Guess name doesn't matter, they access only by Client ID.

You'll get that later, don't worry.

Not everyone has a Client ID number, unless you had one previously. I do not, nor does my husband, therefore that was left blank.

I spoke to the CIC and they said normally the sponsors name goes on the receipt but if the applicants info was put there it wouldn't matter in the end. As long as they have the money :)

k cool
thanks guys

The reason they want the Sponsors name on the recipt is so they see the sponsor paying the fees and not the applicant, but if you were to put the applicants name on the recipt it wont be a big problem. It is just another way they use to show people are not paying their way in,but there is other ways they check that too.
I know this because i was told by a friend that the applicant paid all the fees and immigration wanted to know why, asked if they were buying their way in?In the end they did get approved, but like i say dont give them anything to question if you dont have to.This is where reading the quide comes in handy lol
