hi friends,

I got PPR on 3-03-2011 i am in india, so i have given authorization letter to my friend to submit by hand at that time unfortunately he is not having his PP he is having DVLA(driving license) PPs submitted on 7-04-2011( Thursday at 3:00pm ). When he went to LONDON CHC to submit the officer at the entrance didn't allowed him to go to reception and told to drop the PPs in drop box as suggested by officer at the entrance he kept all the related documents in the envelop and written my home address on the envelop and dropped in the box.

Today I got an email from VO that he didn't received any PPs and asked me to submit as soon as possible. Now what should i do i don't have any proof that i have dropped the envelop in the box.

Did any body have submitted the pps through drop box if yes what is the procedure to do it ? as my friend didn't know the procedure and maybe because of that my envelop got misplaced?

if any body has any ideas please let me know..

thank you

hi,

Thank you brother at least some one has gave some reply. yeah my actual intention was to give authorization to my friend to submit my pps in person and collect it after 14days but the problem was he was not having is PP he submitted for his visa extension. when i was writing authorization letter i asked him his pp number but he told that he is not having PP with him then i though DVLA(driving license issued by London authorities) will do in place of his pp but unfortunately the front desk officers at London CHC didn't accepted it as ID proof and suggested to drop the application in drop box.

Now VO had sent me a letter that my PPs didn't reached him till date. I sent him a reply as well on the same day stating that i already submitted on 7th april 2011 and waiting for a positive reply from him.

I have no first hand experience about dropping passport at the drop box in CHC London, but I read many times in the post that people dropping passports personally are given like a claim stub indicating the date when you will return to pick up the passport. Mates, kindly confirm if this is correct. Did your friend get anything from CHC after He dropped your passport?

Hello Aspire,

There are 2 ways for submitting pps at CHC

1.Directly going to reception and submitting the pps then you will be given a ack(receipt) generally it takes 14 days and the fastest way of getting ur pps stamped.

2. there is a drop box in chc where you will drop your complete envelop in that box with out handing to the officers there, in this case you wont get any type of ack(receipt) this is similar to courier i presume.
processing time is same as if we send the pps through courier.

anyways about my case three days back ( 4-05-2011) the online status shows "decision made". I dont know whether it is good sign or bad, 'coz the CHC people kept me in doubt about my PPs like did they found my full application set or not?

waiting for the good news Insha Allah i will receive my pps very soon i think.

Of course it is a positive one. It means they have stamped your visa in your passport. BTW, What is the exact date of your PPR letter? thank you very much.

Ok they have 2 queues on Thursday 2pm to 3pm at CHC London - one for collections and one for dropping off. You stand in the queue, wait to be called and then hand in your passports etc and get you a receipt/letter back. This is the method you use if you want to collect passports 2 weeks later.

If you just push them into the dropbox then it is just like mailing the passports to them. There is no 2 week guarantee and they will just post them to you when they are ready - could take several more weeks than the first method I mentioned though.
