Greetings to all!

This is my first thread in the forum so please forgive my negligence about any rules that I, unintentionally, may break.

My father applied a Temporary Residence (Visitor) Visa for Canada on 17th August '18. Today I received an email from Canadian Embassy that says you must submit a Military Service record for further processing of your application. The last date for which is 27th October '18. In case this is not submitted by the mentioned date, the processing will be carried out with whatever documents are available and there are great chances of the visa being rejected.

Now the issue is that my father is already retired (since March of this year) and he currently does not have any such documents with him. It is very difficult to make any requests to the Ministry for issuing such documents once you're retired and out of service. Is there a way to deal with this?

I shall be very thankful to anyone who had any relevant information or could assist in such a scenario.

Regards!

As this has been specifically requested, he will have to make every effort to comply or expect the application to be denied.

IRCC would like to see if your dad served during wars, if any human rights violations were committed, if he was part of a team that managed intelligence/surveillance, etc.

Even if your dad provides these military service records, he can expect longer visa processing times as there is a highly possibility of background checks being conducted
