according to new LICO for parents, there is 30% rule.

I have spouse and two kids and sponsoring my two parents, so total number is 6.

For year 2010 for 6 family member, low income cut off is $68509. So should I add 30% of that for parents or should I add 60% of that because of two parents ?

I understand that there is a limit of applications for parents every year,
I read somewhere that the limit is like 5,000 parents a year,
and when the application is fill no more applications are accepted....

You should investigate a little bit more, maybe will be helpful to visit
an immigrants support centre to find further details...

You information is correct about 5000 applications. It is on CIC website, but it clearly indicates that all those application that were file before parents immigration closed will be cleared first before accept new application that will fall under 5000 limit.

thanks for your info but my question stays there.

From your other post you already submitted your parents app back in 2010. So the new rules that just came out in Jan 2014 (adding 30% to LICO) do not apply to you, so don't worry.

You only need to satisfy the LICO amounts under the old rules. You still need to meet the LICO amounts right up until your parents are approved, just not with 30% adder.

Thanks for your message and elaborating that to me.

still have slight confusion about 30% as you said "just not 30% adder". So there is something else other than adding 30% to that LICO amount ?

And this 30% is for one person, means if you have two parents then this added amount is 60% of the lico ?

He means that your application doesn't fall into the new rules for adding 30%. So you can still sponsor your parents, you must only meet the LICO for a family of 6 (based on your previous statement). It would only be an additional 30% for BOTH parents together. Not individually. But as stated, you don't need to add an additional 30% because you filed in 2010. You only need to continue to meet LICO until your parents are landed in Canada.
