Hi everyone,I'm new here an been reading this forum for days now but can't find answers an hoping someone can help me!I applied for PR in 2009 I got married in 2012 and also have a baby in Canada,I wasn't aware that I have to inform CIC of both,someone bought it to my attention as I haven't heard from CIC in two years..both me an my two others kids living here in Montreal are on my application.recently I call CIC an they told me my file have transfer to Montreal office and I will be contacted...anyway I call my lawyer and explain she told me to write them a letter and inform them now but its too late to add my spouse.. Have anyone ever been through this what's likely will be the case in my situation..thanks a lot

Forget to add I apply under convention refugee and I got a letter yesterday saying everything is complete an Montreal office will contact me..I.also post the letter an my marriage certificate along with my baby birth certificate..I'm so stress about all this..

Is there any reason why you cannot add your spouse?

My lawyer says once application is complete they can add spouse but can sponsor after..

Sorry, but I don't know for sure and your lawyer may be correct.

I do know that if a person is granted PR and they did not declare and add their spouse, they can never sponsor that person.
Since you were married after you submitted your refugee application, I honestly do not know if this would also apply to you.

I suppose you could withdraw your application and start over, declaring your [now] husband, that you did not have back in 2009.

You really should ask this question in the Family Sponsorship forum.

A baby in Canada is already Canadian so it's not such a big deal if you didn't add it. However, if your husband is not a Canadian or a PR already, you must add him to your application. It is not too late to do it as long as you haven't landed yet.

If you land without informing immigration that you got married, it is considered misrepresentation and you could actually lose your PR because of that. Furthermore, you would never be able to sponsor your husband.

Therefore, you should immediately inform CIC that you got married in 2012 and that you did not realize that you must add your husband to your application so you wish to do that now.
