Hi,

I'm sponsoring for my wife, and requested for dependent PR under family class on October 2017.
Since it is taking so long, we tried applying visitor visa, that was rejected on following grounds:

"You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary
resident. In reaching this decision, I considered several factors, including:
travel history
Purpose of visit
Employment prospects in country of residence
Current employment situation
Personal assets and financial status"

We had attached letter mentioning that we are applying visitor visa with dual intention; that she had applied for permanent residence. Still not sure why officer decided on validating her travel history, purpose of visit and so forth. Can you please advise what wrong I am doing.

Regards,
Jithin

I am not sure what you're confused about. They validate these things to assess the eligibility for a visitor visa. They are concerned that your wife will remain in Canada after the visitor visa validity expires. You did not convince the officer that if by the end of the visitor visa period she does not have PR that she will leave Canada.

It is not that easy to get a visitor visa in these scenarios for these exact reasons.

Thanks for your reply. Can you please suggest what more documents we can add in that might add up confidence for officer evaluating? So going by reason of rejection :
Travel history : My wife haven't travelled outside India.
Purpose of visit : To be with husband. In letter of explanation we tried mentioning that she will leave Canada when visitor visa gets rejected. I know just by saying that I can't convince , but please suggest me if I can do anything about it.
Employment prospect in county of residence : She is software engineer, having good annual income. Had attached statements.
Current employment situation : she is employed.
Personal assets and financial status : had provided bank statements showing more than $8000

Again I appreciate your reply. Can you please suggest what I can do to make decision made by CIC adverse for us.

With one refusal, no travel history, a spouse in Canada and a sponsorship app in process, there is pretty much no chance of TRV approval.

Unfortunately there's very little chance you can add anything to the application that will get you an approval. My recommendation would be to not waste money by applying again and to wait for the PR visa to be approved.
