Dependent of Sponsored Parents getting engaged...

Hello,
I understand the dependent of family class sponsored Parents will no longer qualify as dependents if the dependent gets married after he/she turns 22 or older. Can the dependent get engaged? Will the engagement disqualify she/he as a true dependent?

Engagement doesn't matter, as it's not an official or legal term to CIC.

However if someone became common-law (lived together for 12 consecutive months with their partner), that would disqualify them as a dependent.
