Hi, I was asked an interesting question today by a friend who is sponsoring her Argentinian husband and I'm curious to know the answer.

If you sponsor your spouse, and the relationship doesn't end up working out, and the sponsored person ends up finding another relationship and has a child with someone else, could that child end up being the financial responsibility of the sponsor? Or no, because the child did not accompany the sponsored person to Canada?

Thank you!

No - the child will not be the responsibility of the sponsor. The child didn't exist at the time of the sponsorship application and wasn't included in the undertaking.
