Hi, i got a departure order after assylum rejection and appeals and on the day of my meeting with CBSA i requested them to give me 30 more days which they agreed to during meeting. Later, I found out that leaving after 30 days it would become a Deportation order so I told them I'd leave on the last day of the departure order given to me. Officer agreed and I asked them to buy my flight tickets as well. I left on the 30th day with a CBSA officer coming with me to the flight.

I was not given any departure certificate at that time and i was not aware of it as well. I called CBSA general line to ask what it shows on my file whether its a Deportation or Departure, 1 agent said it shows departure order while the second shows Deportation order. I did file for ATIP which will take about a month, in the mean time i wanted to know if anyone had any information about this? Does a departure order become a Deportation order if CBSA buys ticket for us? Or does CBSA send the departure certificate online as well? I remember the Officer telling me something about getting a copy online of something, dont remember 100%. My passport and all documents related to removal were handed to airline crew which gave it to Indian immigration officers and they only returned my passport, nothing else.

Just curious, why is this specific information so relevant to you? Are you still considering in applying a visa for any of the 5 eyes countries?

If you asked CBSA to purchase your ticket and your passport was given to the flight staff it was likely a deportation order. They don’t have to give you additional documentation. Having a meeting with CBSA usually means you already have an active removal order against you.
