Hello, My name is Tariq.

I have been refused entry into Canada. They refused me for "not satisfying the officer that I would leave Canada at the end of my stay." they considered my "history of having contravened the conditions of admission on previous stay in Canada."

I am in this situation because I was stupid enough not to keep track of my study permit expiry date. It was completely accidental, and by no means intentional. I overstayed for almost six months, but as soon I found out that my student permit expired, I immediatly seeked a plane ticket and prepared for departure.

They also said, "Should you wish to reapply, I would suggest that you do so only if your situation has changed substantively or you have significant new information to submit."

Now, I do wish to reapply but how will my situation change substantively? I can not change history. Also, what new information can I add?

If you have any sort of information you can help me with or previous similar cases, please inform me with them. thanks in advance

You have to give reason for your overstay with a valid proof in your new application..............write an SOP in which you can describe that why the study permit is necessary for you.................

you had overstayed for 6 months not for 6 days and you did not know of that. Were you sleeping all over this six months? This was a serious violation. No one could be this stupid?

well, just explain your honesty and back it up with evidence and hopefully visa officer will buy your story.

There is no harm in applying second time.

All the best.

Thank you for your replay, it really means a lot to me. Can you give me examples of a valid proof? I am writing an essay/letter explaining that it was accidental and that I was not aware it expired. I was studying during the whole time I overstayed.

The study permit is essential to study in Canada, I have one and half year left to complete my studies, which can be longer in another university. btw, what is SOP?

Thank you a lot. I am writing an essay/letter describing that it was an accident. Some people loss track of things sometimes, specially when they are stressed.

I was studying for the whole six months. I have my transcripts to prove it. I still don't understand the appreviation SOP. I was streessed but I do not have papers to prove that. In any case you are a real help to me, just the fact that you posted makes me happy that someone out there other than me cares about this, thank you.

Forget Canada forever.

This essentially means that you should wait until you've established far stronger ties to your home country before trying to apply again.

Ties to your country are: employment, property ownership, business ownership, bank accounts, other assets, immediate family (i.e. spouse and/or children) who are staying behind, etc.
