Denied EE application, can apply under student visa?

Hi.

I was just wondering if for example, a candidate applied for EE (after receiving ITA) then suddenly got rejected, can he/she apply for student visa instead (although it is expensive but the process will take 2-3 months only)? Does it affect the overall application? Or just try the whole process again (for the EE)?

Thanks.

Any particular reason why you were rejected ?

No reason why you could not apply for a student visa but without knowing your profile difficult to know if you have any chance of being accepted.

Also keep in mind as an international student you need to fund in the region of 15-18000 CDN plus 10000 living expenses per year and if you aim is a PGWP as a step towards PR in the future recommended at least a 2 year course for a 3 years PGWP to get that important Canadian experience.

Processing times for any visa are estimates not guarantees, sometimes shorter sometimes a lot longer.

Hi Bs65,

Thanks for the response. We haven't submitted our application yet (we are preparing our ECA and IELTS), but I was thinking what will be the analysis if you have rejected EE application, can he/she apply under student visa instead (for faster application)?

Additional question, 15-18000 CDN per year for the proof of funds? What if for example one of the family member wants to accompany the candidate, same fund applies?

Thanks again.
