Delivering Passport in Person to Paris

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I think that the only way for my husband to get the visa at this point is for me to go to Paris and have it done myself.

Does anyone know if they stamp it the same day? Or will I have to spend a few days in Paris? I know that I would much rather spend them with my hubby than in Paris alone!!!
