I am posting here to seek advice or knowledge about delay of initial PR card from you fellows.

I landed on March 6 2014 and yet I have not received my new PR card until this moment (over 4 months). My wife and kid landed on April 7 2014 and they have received their cards on June 20. I do not why my application got delayed that much.

I called CIC and the reply was always "your application is under review". No reason or projected time was given.

The CIC webpage (processing time) is also strange. Does that mean any application for initial card prior to March 22 will have to wait for over 4 months? If does not make sense while new application is processed much faster (only 43 days). It is hard to understand the processing procedure and protocol behind the scene though, definitely not First In First Out. Seems CIC is handling the new applications and meanwhile letting the old cases hang over there.

Thanks a lot if you have any comments or insight information regarding this delay. Regards!

Some cases are picked for internal quality control.
Seems your luck to be picked. But you should receive it in 1-2 months hopefully.
Have your area's Federal MP inquire on your behalf as to when you may receive it...
