Delay in Processing?

A very silly question, but it's eating me up inside.

I have sent the package to sponsor my wife from China on Tuesday. Do I get an e-mail saying they have received it? If so, when? After the number of days mentioned in the processing times that is shown in the website?

Also speaking of the processing time, I have noticed today that it will take 81 days in Mississauga. Last week I checked, it was 61 days. I understand it jumped to 61 days because of the Xmas and New Year holidays. But why in this past week or so it jumped another 20 days? Is that possible or is that a glitch in the system?

Don't expect to hear from CIC until sponsor approval. Sometimes they give AOR but usually the first that you will hear is sponsor approval.

The 81 days is correct, not a glitch.
