hi all,

i'm a portuguese citizen - studied in India. Now i am filing for canada immigration (Express Entry) from dubai.

Do i need to get my educational certificates attested by any canadian body like World Education Services, International Credential Assessment Service of Canada. If it's mandatory it will be cumbersome for me to get all the transcripts done as i will have to personally visit India & apply for transcripts & that too the transcripts have to be sent directly from the University to the Certification body like WES, OR ICASC

I have a friend who is indian & has all indian degree certificates - he filed for australia from dubai & he didnt have to get the transcripts / degree equivalence done. His immigration consultant in Dubai did all the paperwork for him.

Is the degree equivalence thing mandatory?

someone put some light onto it. :(

Regards,
thads

Yes - mandatory.

I completed my master/bachelor from Mumbai University, and I did the educational credential assessment from WES.

My stepwise process.
1) I did WES online application, which cost me 233$.
2) I authorize my brother to receive the transcript sealed in an envelope on my behalf.
3) He further attested final degree certificate, mark sheet and convocation certificate from Mumbai university.
4) Lastly, mailed all the documents from step 1 and 2 to Canadian WES office.

Please let me know if it is not clear.

Best luck!!
