Hello everyone,

I have a doubt. I'm asking for a friend who is currently in Canada on a study permit.

His course was supposed to begin in September but got deferred to January. Hence, he is planning on working till the time he starts his course.
The question is a student allowed to work full-time in such a case till the time the course begins?

Any help would be appreciated.

No he MUST NOT work at all. Part time or full time.

All this would be illegal for sure leading to issues with visa extensions, PGWP, PR, etc

Did this friend go to UoWinnipeg? Sounds like it

Working before his classes start in September is a violation of his study permit and will make him deportable from Canada. If he can't survive in Canada without working, he should return home and come back in January.
