Deferral of start date

Hi,

I got my visa for college of new caledonia for Jan 2013 intake. But I want defer my start date to next September term
If I defer my start date to next september 2013 term. Do I have to apply for visa again. My consultant told that if I defer my start date then I should again apply for visa

1. You have one expiry date on the top line of the visa by which you must arrive in Canada, not the date by which you must leave Canada.
