Would appreciate some help. I worked for company A from 2008-2010. Then company B acquired A in 2011, and continued my employment till current. I declared two work experiences (A and B -- same NOC) in Express Entry profile, and got an ITA. However now I am thinking about merging the two to just one work experience in the post-ITA application form.

Is it OK to change this? It won't affect the CRS.

I need to clarify this because the CIC instructions state that “reference documents are mandatory for each work experience declared”. It is impossible to get the paystubs or letterhead from the old company because it does not exist due to the acquisition.

Some more details:-

- The job location did not change after transition from A to B.
- The job duties in A continued in B for a couple of years. I have new duties now, but all of new and old fall in the same NOC.
- The employment verification letter from company B does not mention anything about company A. It mentions:
==> Original hire date - Feb 2008 (that's the start date at my old company A)
==> Start date - Jan 2011

Thanks.

I would keep them as two separate job experiences in the Post ITA form, just to avoid any confusion. Ask your manager to mention in the letter that the you worked for company A from x-x and then it was acquired by company B. This is just one sentence, and I hope your manager shouldn't have any issues adding this sentence to your reference letter. You can then upload that same letter for both of the job experiences.

If your manager can't make that change, then you will have to include any other documents (such as offer letter from company A, business card, any emails, and any correspondence that say that company A has been acquired by company B). The goal is to satisfy the visa officer by any means. In this scenario, you can also upload a letter of explanation stating the situation. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried to keep them as 2 different jobs in the appilication form (post ITA), but this lead to 2 fields in the document upload page asking for a reference letter (one for each job), and I have just one reference letter. So, I am thinking of mentioning just one job from 2008-current, and adding a letter of explanation about the situation. What do you think?

I have a similar situation here. Mine was more complicated, I got promotion and the NOC has changed after the acquisition. Can you tell me which way you have adopted at the end? And did it go well with you?
