Declaring Money on Permanent Landing

How did you guys bring your proof of funds to Canada? I am planning on doing a permanent landing and am thinking of either just showing my proof of funds through my bank statements in my home country or bringing the money (maybe through travellers cheque) and declaring it?


Has anyone gone through the money declaration process? (More than 10k cad) How was it?

Any advise? Thank you.

They ask how much funds you are actually bringing. If you bring more than 10k cad, then you will be asked to complete a form and return to them.

Btw, travellers cheques are not accepted in Canadian banks.
