declaration of severance

Hello,

I was married for 5years and get divorced. Now I have a common-law partner that will sponsor me to stay in canada, do I need to make a declaration of severance? I'm so confused and don't know what to do. Any suggestion would help.

You need your divorce decree. The declaration of severance of common-law relationship is for people previously involved in a common-law relationship, not married and divorced.
