There has been a decision made on our appeal hearing. Now I wonder how I will find anything out because of the mail strike. My MP said it will hold everything up for at least a week before they start mailing things again. I have a case # but wonder how I use it, if I can use it at all. It is VBO-XXXXX. What does it apply to? And can I access anything by it? Just wondering.

I just wanted to wish you well!

Even on eCAS the only thing it tells you is "Decision Made: We will contact you", it won't actually say what the decision was.

Keeping fingers crossed for you, and wishing you all the very best.

Call the IAD office handling your appeal. Ask them if they can scan and email a copy of your decision to you.

Awesome idea. I'll try again on Monday. So far I've had no luck talking to a real person. I've been looking and looking for what number I would call to do this, but all I get are automated answering service. always the same. It's so frustrating. There just never appears to be the option to choose talking to a real person. :(

Are you phoning the IAD in Vancouver? I was able to get through - I think you have to choose several options and just listen, and finally press 0 to get a live person. If you press 0 right away, it won't work. (However, this was last year, so may no longer be like that.)
Also, if you understand any French, I had far more luck with the French line - I think because in Vancouver not many people require the French line, but nevertheless the office is required to have it, so it is less busy. Once I got the French-speaking person on the phone, I just switched to English - they are bilingual, so no problem there, and they were far more helpful than the ones I got on the English line.

Hmmm. Smart! I should try this when calling CIC. I am hardly ever able to get through to a live person, even on the so-called "less busy" days.

well I'm hoping then that friday was just a busy day and monday I'll have better luck. Not sure about understanding the french part of it, but I'll try to hit 0 although I'm pretty sure hitting 0 was never one of their options. I tried multiple number to the IAD and kept thinking maybe I was missing something.
