Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone has been in a situation similar to myself.
I checked ecas recently to see that I have decision made (I think it's positive, a couple weeks prior to this they requested I pay RPRF).

My only concern is that my medical results expire in a few weeks. I have sent an urgent case specific request, but was also wondering what the consensus is on this forum surrounding close approaching medical deadlines.

Thanks guys, this place has been an invaluable resource.

We have seen several different things happen in this situation.
1. CIC could simply extend your medicals for up to an additional year, which will reflect in an additional year validity on your COPR (best option) giving you lots of time to prepare to land.
2. CIC could send you a COPR that when you receive it will expire within days or weeks, or even one that has already expired (which has actually happened in several cases). You would then either need to get to a Canada POE asap to do your PR landing, or in the case of expired COPR work with the visa office to issue you a new COPR with extended validity.
3. CIC could request you take a brand new medical exam. Although this is unlikely since you already have DM.

Thanks Rob, I notice you only have a 2 wk gap between visa issues and landing, was this something to do with your medicals?

No nothing to do with that. My spouse was already in Canada at the time, so it was a super quick process to drive to nearest land border to do the PR landing.

The actual validity of COPR though was much, much later.

I actually received Decision Made the day after my medicals expired. I was given a date of February 17th to land by. So they extended mine by about 2 months to give me time to land. So chances are they'll give you a few extra weeks or an extra month or 2 to do your landing (although it's completely up to the officer/VO issuing your COPR)
