I used to work for a med-sized supplier and consultancy company for the oil and petrochemical sector. I was a sales person but pretty much did all the jobs a regional sales manager was doing. My HR manger have proposed the following letter to support my EE application.
About the Position:
Technical sales consultants collaborate with vendors and engage with clients such as government agencies and petrochemical companies to fully understand their technical needs and assist in planning and proposing technical projects and technologies solutions, and engage in post-sales activities. As specialised technical professionals, they are able to gather requirements, analyse business needs, make recommendations and sell ideas which solve customers’ problems.
Reporting to the Business Development Manager, key responsibilities and duties include:
• Maintain and grow existing relationships with local clients and identify potential opportunities.
• Continuously research market trends and identify technologies and solutions suitable and customized for local clients;
• Work directly with clients and main users and translate both business and technical requirements into a defined scope;
• Produce architectural models and presentations to clients and vendor specialists;
• Work well in a goal-oriented team, including participating in frequent meetings to increase sales, new initiatives, products, and meet team KPIs;
• Develop and amend client’s marketing plans and strategies to achieve business goals;
• Manage the tender process and all sales enquiries;
• Follow-up with clients after sale, and mainly, respond to backlogs, change request, provide solution and ongoing support;
• Assist account managers in project costs estimation and operational budgeting;
• Assist with business process review and improvement.
Essential Skills & Minimum Employment Requirement:
• Bachelor degree in Information Technology, e-Commerce, MIS or related field.
• Possess a sound technical knowledge of ERP systems, Data mapping and integration, ISP & Web Technologies, storage & cloud solutions.
• Experience in performing business analysis with software development projects including requirements gathering, documenting specifications, Use Cases, is a plus.
I'm undecided between technical consultant (2171) OR (6211) OR User support technicians(2282) OR Technical sales specialists - wholesale trade (6221).
