I reached out to my MP to help with the application since i was past the 13 month mark. They called the IRCC contact Centre and were told that the processing times have increased by an additional 2 months. They also mentioned that my security hasn't cleared and that there is no fixed timeline for that. They said they will follow up again on my behalf in March. I am not sure what else i can do. The last update i received was on May 3rd. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Have you requested notes from CBSA? CBSA notes will show the status of Security check. I had the same response from the MP when I reached out to them in June 2025, and when I received CBSA notes, Security had surprisingly been cleared since Feb 2025.

Not particularly surprised that the average processing time has increased, but this change was never publicly communicated (it still shows 13 months). So I’m not sure how that agent obtained this information. Agents also tend to use this as a way to limit or deflect inquiries (including those from MPs), since, in theory, the “average” can always be extended indefinitely, allowing any outstanding application to remain within a publicly stated average.
How long after the LPP and other checks were marked completed, did you all receive the oath scheduling email?
Can you guide me on how i can request CBSA notes, and if there is a cost to it.

No charge for citizens/PRs for requesting their own processing info. Not difficult to do - the most challenging part is making an account and making sure/selecting the right type of app and navigating the system.
Big distinctions to understand are that a) you're seeking privacy information (your own info) and not 'corporate info' (you're not trying to get info about how they process apps overall etc), nor looking for info about other people; and b) you're not an employee/former employee (eg you're not trying to get your employee records or related).
I finally made it to the finish line. Tracker updated this morning for oath on 27th Feb. Hope whoever is still waiting that you’ll make it too soon!
I received my email invite to a virtual ceremony. Question, Do I need to confirm by responding to the email? I don't see the instructions to do so.
There is no need to confirm receipt of the invite. You would need to forward your signed oath form after the ceremony in reply to this email.

1. Send in an MP inquiry, usually they will be able to get with IRCC and help understand more in depth where your application is stuck (maybe your Security screening is still in progress).
2. Request notes from CBSA using the ATIP portal. CBSA notes will show the actual status of security screening.
At this stage, knowing exactly what part of the process is still left to be completed should be enough information. Your CBSA notes should also tell you if an officer has been officially assigned to work on your citizenship application.
