Hi @legalfalcon, I have 1 query if you can help please. is counter foil validity is equal to visa validity on passports? and does it reflect medical validity as well i.e. person can travel anytime before the end date of Counter Foil end date? Kindly help.

The counterfoil is the visa and the validity is the PR visa validity. So you have to enter before the expiry of the visa. The medicals cannot expire before the visa validity expires.

I called IRCC customer support and the agent told me on the phone that I have passed the background check. All checks are done but my file is still open and waiting for to be approved. What does that mean? Does it mean I have passed all the steps and waiting for the case officer to approve my file? Or is there something still pending? She also mentioned that everything looks good on my file. Any idea what that means @legalfalcon

If all checks have been done, then the final review may be the only thing pending, in which it is made sure that all documents are valid, including medicals and passport.

In most cases, many applications are pending even after all checks have been done.

Irrespective of whether your spouse is accompanying or not, if your family composition changed before you become a PR, you have to provide PCC, and medicals. All family members, whether accompanying or not have to go though medical, criminal and security admissibility.

Hi Guys,
Which one is responsible for issuing PPR? The primary office (ottawa*) or secondary office (NDVO*) ? (FSW-O, India).
Thanks
It’s a very helpful question to ask and I am also waiting for other members with deeper understanding about the process to give the answers!

I have exactly same status as yours, waiting for final approval. It means everything has been passed but final approval is yet to come. Hopefully they approve our files and we receive confirmation soon.

Another biggest draw happened today, 5000 ITAs are issued. I feel happy for the people who has received invitations after waiting for long . But I also feel that if they have capacity to conduct such big draws and do the follow ups then they should empathize with us and clear the backlog asap. I really feel that this wait is hampering my peace of mind as taking the decision to relocate , preparing with the documents ,ielts ,etc was a big task for all of us. And waiting for this to end in a positive way is least we are asking for.

If your family composition has changed you have to inform IRCC and they will send you the forms that you have to fill in and send back.

After you marry, you can send a webform and inform IRCC. IRCC will send you some forms and ask for the following documents:

1. An IMM8 Application
2. Schedule A form for spouse
3. Additional Family Information form for primary applicant and spouse.
4. Fee receipt for spouse - Processing fee ($550) and right of permanent residence fee ($490).
5. Birth Certificate of spouse, translation, and affidavit of translation.
6. Copy of Spouse's Passport
7. Copy of marriage certificate and marriage registration
8. Wedding Card and Photographs
9. Police clearance certificate for the primary applicant and spouse
10. Spouse's upfront medical
11. Letter of Explanation (If required)

Your application will be reopened and after your spouses documents are processed, both, you and your spouse will be issued new COPRs (if your spouse is accompanying). This takes 2-4 months. In this process, your eligibility is NOT re-evaluated. See https://bit.ly/3gGuOC8
