I called CIC last Friday and found below updates:
AOR: DEC.13.2019
Medical pass
eligibility: in processing
criminality: pass
security check: in processing

I am wondering why security already in processing but eligibility has not passed yet. shouldn't security check be the last step before DM?

can anyone give a hint?

thank you
Does anybody know about the meaning of "Security Checking in processing"? does it mean security screening or just the normal check? how long does the normal check take? thank you very much!

I guess the inly way to see if you are is SS is thru GCMS...as what ive seen on the previous threads, its within a day to over a year...depends on the case...

I called CIC just a few minutes ago and was told nothing has been processed since the biometric letter.
AOR Dec 19 2019
Medical Jan 10 2020
Biometric Jan 13 2020
Did this call help? Will they start to process it?
I think I'm in a similar situation, inland applicant. AOR Dec 22, I gave medicals and biometrics, but there is literally no change. Since January "We have not received your fingerprints. " and "You do not need a medical exam"
I can see the biometrics data on the top of the application, they have it.

Could you speed up your application? Or what else did they say? Is there any hope that they'll start to process it after your call?
Btw where are you from?

Thanks

There are thousands of applicants waiting for review. All we have to do is wait. We cannot expedite the process.

Unless we are as valuable like Einstein.

To know the Visa Processing Office which contact number should I call ?

Is there any particular time for such calls?

Will I be able to dial from India?

You can also know your visa office by raising a web form query instead of calling . Just request them to inform you about your vo and they'll reply you back within a few days, All the best.

I haven't called them yet, but there is literally no change from the beginning. "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information. "
Don't Worry. It's normal to have no change in the status. Some applicants straight away get the PPR without having to see Bg status change in their profile. I too am in the same boat. All the best.

The agent that I talked to was speaking with attitudes which almost pissed me off. It was just 20 minutes of waiting just to find out that my application was stuck. She wouldn't elaborate anything but just repeated herself saying it was normal to be delayed due to COVID-19. Where was COVID-19 in January? for god's sake..
Mine is saying "biometric is completed" but well apparently, it is not. From now on, I am reguarly calling CIC to find out if they've even touched my application.

There is no way to speed up any appilcation under any circumstances. Since the call, no update so I guess they don't care. I am from S.Korea by the way.

I know this is extremely bad situation for you, and for all of us waiting as well, but have you noticed absence of all sporting events in Canada? Do you know that thousands are dying of a disease that didn't even exist in January, for God's sake. There will, most probably, be a curfew in Canada, and in that case government sector will close all offices that are not essential. Just look at what happened in your home country.

Patience, they didn't conduct a draw yesterday, which means they will have more time to work on our cases, although I believe they reduced the number of officers until further notice.

I understand your frustration because I myself has been waiting for couple of months now. As a matter of fact we in this forum are all waiting desperately and so we can then plan our lives ahead. We dont have any control over the processing. its sad but true. we are all in here to compare timelines and get a close estimate on when we might get out PPRs. order GCMS so you'll have a peace of mind.

i worked in a contact center before. im pretty sure that they'll log every interactions you had. probably tag you as a repeat caller and they can choose to just ignore you and be sarcastic. trust me - we can be mean.

just chill and relax. let it be. doesnt matter if your from south korea or from antartica - we are just an application number.
