Hi all!

Greetings - Please add me to the spreadsheet.

Application sent - Dec 29, 2018
Expected receive date - Jan 03, 2019
Eligibility days - 1162
Application type - Individual
Location - Newmarket

I applied for myself. However, I forgot to print my name on the back of the photos. Costco stamped one of the photo with date, address, etc. I am wondering if they would return my application.

Thanks!
Samay

Hello friends,

I am a little confused about q14 a) have you held travel documents and or passports during your eligibility period?
I have two passports during my eligibility period:

Passport 1: Dec 15, 2010 to Dec 15, 2015
Passport 2: Dec 10, 2014 to Dec 8, 2024

My first passport expired on Dec 15, 2015. However I have renewed the passport one year in advance. Is there any gap between passports? and if yes, what explanation I am supposed to provide in my application?

Thanks!

There is no gap in your passports. You should be good to go. Good luck!

Hi folks, 3 questions:

1.) Where do we check our status? e.g. AOR, etc? Would that be the website that requires you to have a GCkey etc.? If you could post a link that would be handy!

2.) My PR Card expires in September 2019. Am I required to have a PR Card while I am waiting for my citizenship? I am thinking that if my citizenship is not processed by September next year - it might be a good idea to get a new PR Card. That being said, if I am not leaving the country - would that change my PR status or anything if my PR Card expires?

3.) "When" do we know if we are "safe" that we have completed all the documents correctly? Paranoia generally starts to set in for me after waiting a couple months "not knowing" if I am good to start the process with all the T's crossed and I's dotted... :) I remember this from my PR application - though that application was quite a bit more complicated :) Is AOR acceptance usually a good determiner?

Thank you all!

Hi,
nothing is going to change if your PR card expires. You need it just for traveling abroad. If you plan to travel, renew your PR card before your trip.

i dont think you need an explanation.
Thanks.

Can I put the below response in Table B question 14 a)?
Note: The expiry date of my first passport was 2015-12-15. I have renewed my passport on 2014-12-10 (before the expiry date of my first passport). There is no gap between my passports.

Hello folks,

Please help me in addressing the below question.

Q13 Have you ever held immigration or citizenship status in any country other than Canada, including your country of birth?

I have studied in Australia. I have put myself as student in the status column. However i am confused with Date obtained/effective date, and end date columns.

The visa was issued in April 2008, the visa was valid till March 2010.

I went for my studies in August 2008, and I left the country in December 2009.

What will be my effective and end dates in those columns?

Thanks

They see there is no gap. If any, i'd say passport renewed early because conveniently I was im my homecountry
Well this is also obvious
Thanks. Its better not to give any explanation. This should be self-explanatory.

Also, one more help:
9c) I have lived in my home country but not as a crown servant. What is the best way to tackle the answer?

Hello folks,

Need some advice:

for Q13: I was a student in Australia. Which dates do I need to mention under effective date and end date? My visa was issued in April 2008 but I landed in August 2008. Visa expiry date was March 2010 but I left the country in December 2009. Super confused what dates do I have to mention?

Thanks!

Reference to question

10(b) In the past four (4) years, were you in another country (other than Canada) for a total of 183 days or more

In my case I landed in Canada in Dec 2015 and have not left Canada since then and I completed my eligibility period in Dec 2018.

In the above question 10 (b) they are asking for past 4 years so will I have to provide police certificate for Dec 2014 to Dec 2015 period when I was not in Canada (before my landing).

Please clarify it seems odd that they want police certificate for a period which is before my landing.
