Congrats. Did you have your test/interview at Glen Erin Dr in Mississauga? I have mine there next week. Can you please share in detail your
interview experience? thank you.
Yes at Glen Erin

You will need to have the original of all the documents you submitted with your application
the officer will compare and may ask for them to verify

You need also your health card and driving license

You need all your passports even expired

They will ask you some questions to verify your identity, address, etc...

Straight forward and easy process

You go first for your test, you need your invitation letter
After the test you go sit outside waiting to be called by name for the results of the test and interview by one of the officers
Took me around 1.5 hours from start to finish, arrived at 12 left at around 1:20, but you can expect longer wait times as your name may not be called that fast

Good luck

thanks for your reply. I have two qs if you don't mind.

1. About original documents; the only things we sent copies with the appl. were passport , DL and health card. Rest all was original anyway. Is that ok?

2. I moved recently from the address they have and I did not change it online. Will that matter? Do they ask for address proof?

thanks.

How did you test on .. Thursday go?
All okay with IELTS copy?
Yes all good. The test was straight-forward. If you studied the "Discover Canada" guide a couple of times, you can easily pass the test. 15 is needed to pass out of 20 questions. I got all 20 right :) It took about 5 mins to finish the test.

For the interview, they didn't even ask for the copy of my IELTS test. When i submitted my PR application a while ago, i had submitted my original IELTS TRF and the lady interviewing me had all my documents with her.

The main things needed for the interview are:

1. Your passport (current and expired) - they check everything, all the places you've traveled and cross-verify with the online-presence calculator sheet.
2. Your PR card.
3. Health card.
4. Driving license - they check the address on the license and on your file.

They ask a few basic questions like:
1. Where do you work?
2. What do you do?
3. Who do you live with? and do you still live in the same address as the one on file?
4. If married, is your spouse a citizen?
5. Do you plan on living in the current address?
6. Did you have any problem with the law in Canada? etc...

Once all is done, she said she was satisfied that i am eligible to be a citizen and approved my file. She said, I'll get an invite for oath ceremony shortly. Overall expect to spend about 90 minutes for the test and interview to be completed and plan your travel/parking accordingly.

To your point#1: Yes it should be okay. Just take your original passport (current and expired), Driving license and Health Card.

Point#2: That should be okay too. I also moved recently from the address on my file. The interviewer asked me about this. I told her that i moved couple of months ago and since i updated my DL with the new address, everything was good.

Okay, fingers crossed and let us know!

If you have any other things like old educational stuff I'd take those too.
Hey hey. The IELTS copy was enough. In fact, the interviewer did not even ask me for that. She had all my originals from when i applied for my PR long ago.

Ceremony invite on 29 November for a ceremony on 11 December 2019! I will become a citizen almost exactly 5 years after I became a PR and 8 years after I applied for PR and started this very long adventure. Relieved it's almost over!
Congratulations!! Your situation is almost similar to mine. 8 years in Canada and finally done with my test. I've been on open & closed work permit, foreign worker, permanent resident and now almost a citizen. Waiting for oath ceremony. :)

Hello everyone.

Today passed the test 20/20.
It is easy but only if you have studied " Discover Canada" guide.
In interview, they just verified the ID's and Passport, didn't ask for anything else.

Thanks.

Today I called the customer care again and asked to escalate as 1 year completed. Anyone has experience related to escalation? Will it help?

thanks for the reply. My DL still has an old address different from the address on file and from my current address. Because I don't drive, so I did not
bother to get it changed. And it is too late to get it changed as my date is next week.

Hello folks,

Appeared for test on Dec 05 at Mississauga location.

If you study Discovery Canada atleast 1-2 times you should pass the test.

Interview is as said by others they verify your ID and check for travel dates. If all good your interview will be very short.

overall prepare for atleast 2 hours in total of time for test and interview.

Waiting for Oath ceremony letter and all the best to everyone else.
