Just got off the phone with CIO

After looking through the system, the agent told me that it could be a few more weeks before they are able to process all of December applications

However, when you call, the system would still show if - heavens forbid- your application has been returned

Good luck to all of us awaiting to get charged and what have you.

Didn't see anyone charged till now after 24th December. I am 31/12 applicant. NOC is 1114 like yours

I have mentioned proof of funds to be only 10 lakhs fixed deposit and nothing else in property or other assets. Am I eligible for per?

She looked for it but couldnt find the FSW application, only the EE

Which is a good sign, she said that had the application been returned for whatever reason then my name would have shown up on the system and just to wait to be charge due to the large volume of applications received in December (my app received date is 12-29)

Pakistani 10 Lakh or Indian 10 Lakh?
Assuming it is Pakistani, 10 Lakh = CAD 12,300. < Which is above the 11,284 required for a single person so you're fine.

PER brings you a step closer to PR... Each step makes your chances of rejection lesser...
Also, the jubilation is becoz u hv been included into the cap...
And, the processing is pretty long and exhausting... These pats on the back wud lessen the anxiety a wee bit...

thats good enough..though to be on a safer side you should generally show 1000-2000 more but this can not become a reason for rejection if you are worried about it...even if you showed indian currency in december the value of canadian dollar has gone down so it will be greater than teh stipulated amount...in a nutshell you are good no need to worry..

This might seem like a stupid question but still had to ask.
Why is getting a PER considered a good news .. I mean I understand that its a step forward and all but there is a fair chance of rejection isn't there ? So far I have seen people being very ecstatic as if their application is approved and they have the PR already.

I don't mean to be offensive to anyone just trying to understand the intensity of receiving a PER. Also cause I received mine yesterday i.e. 26/02 but obviously the letter mentions nothing decided yet and VO office will tale the final decision ....

Very nice question and observation from you as regards the ecstasy ;D surrounding receipt of PER. As you rightly said, it's a step forward (hence, it's good news kind of). So I wouldn't blame anyone celebrating such. Some people get their files returned upon receipt by CIC, while few get NER even after being charged. Hence for the fact that not everyone gets PER, I think it's a thing of joy while hoping for the next positive stage. Besides, once you have your PER, you are almost 70-80% sure of getting PR.

Congrats to all the PERers.. ;D while also wishing goodluck to those that are yet to receive. 8)
