Hi all ,

I met one of my friend who has diabetes and would like to know if that can be a cause for rejection in his medicals next week

I can't speak from direct knowledge...however...according to one person on the post below they had diabetes (and were unaware of it at the time of the MR) and were approved anyways.

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/medical-checkup-might-indicate-diabetes-will-it-lead-to-rejection-t176048.0.html;msg3880842#msg3880842

There are additional tests that will need to be done to determine how advanced it is (ie: has there been organ damage, etc) and then a determination will be made. If your friend has it under control and doesn't have any other complications as a result it seems that they have a good chance of it not negatively impacting their obtaining PR. It is impossible for anyone in the forum to say for sure but it seems it isn't an automatic denial.

You can find more information on the ME process here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/partner/pp/

In particular on that site check out the IMEI on Diabetes: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/partner/pp/pdf/IMEI_Diabetes.pdf

Hello!
Second line updated is a good sign, it means that your MR is just around the corner.

But u have 2 ways to know your VO: calling CIC or waiting your AOR. The thing is that not all VOs send AOR, like in my country.
So, I suggest to call CIC by downloading Magic Jack App (free calls to Canada) and ask about that!!

Wish u all The best!

Folks,

I have a dilemma. I expect to receive the medical request any time now (or an interview call). My wife is expecting our second child, and the estimated delivery date is June 11th. How would this affect our medical tests? Will they perform the tests on her soon after delivery? Or will the entire process now be delayed? What about our new-born? What is the process to add his/ her details to the application? Will that process delay the application?
Any information on this would be very helpful, so I can be prepared.

When your family composition changes, you must add the new family member to your application so that is an exception to "no further documents". If your baby is born at any point before you land as a PR, even if your visa was already issued, you may not land on that visa but must add your baby to the application.

If you get your visa before the baby is born, you may land and have the baby in Canada or you could land, then go back and deliver the child at home but that is a bad option because a PR must be in Canada in order to sponsor their child and there is no guarantee that your child will get a TRV to come with you in which case you may face leaving your wife and baby behind and going to Canada alone in order to sponsor which can take months by the way.

The cost of having a baby in Canada can be anyway from zero to thousands of $. If you are covered by health care, say if you settle in any province that is not Ontario or BC, the cost would be zero. If you settle in BC or Ontario where there is a waiting time for health care but you use free clinics and a midwife and have a home birth, the cost could also be near zero or very low. If you have the baby in a hospital, you are probably looking at at least 3000 and probably more like 5000 but if there are complications, the amount can easily sky rocket.

P.s - I extract this information from different post posted by Leon ( vip member ) :)

Dont take the risk and do it asap. You never know what could happen. There can be a delay from the hospital/clinic or from the post office , so its better you do it at once.

The sooner u do is better. Who knows cic might come up with new rules. Can't predict. :) finish it soon :)
Then u have time to prepare :) good luck

Refusal of application can be happen at any stage under following.

Applicants can be refused at anytime during the process of the application, for any of the following reasons:

• Proof of Language skills
• Criminal issues (have criminal record in any country)
• Security(failed background checks)
• Medical (failed medical exam)
• Financial reasons (have less than the minimum settlement funds
• Misrepresentation(failed to be truthful during the application or omitted information)
• Non-compliance(failed to provide any requested information/ documents the immigration officer requested or failed to attend a
Personal Selection Interview)
• Inadmissible family members (the above reasons for any family member indicated as dependent on the application form)

But I'm sure if u have got per email and non of the above is applicable no need to worry :) waiting is hard. I know :) good luck
