Congrats. I know the feeling. Dec apps seem to be moving right along quite well!
Hopefully the VOs will proceed at same pace!

Dear Sweden,
I also got my aproval today January 11, 2013 :D:D
Thank you and good luck to everyone on this thread who are still waiting.
It's such a good feeling when you get this email. It's like they're giving you a gift out of the blue :D

Hi everyone,

I've read various threads on this board as my husband and I worked through our family class application, but this is the first time I'm posting :)

Today must have been a busy day in the CIC office! Sent Application via fedex to be delivered in Ottawa on Dec. 12. Got a receipt notice from CIC on January 10, 2013 and a notice today (Jan 11, 2013) that I had been approved as a sponsor for the family class application. It's now being shipped to Detroit by CIC (so they say) as my husband is American. If stage two is as fast as stage one was, we'll be one excited couple!

This waiting is the pits....

Welcome to the thread and congrats on a fast process! hope second stage is as smooth as the first one. Interesting that your application is headed to detroit, I thought Ottawa was doing stage 2 for US residents..
If you want to be added to the spreadsheet ( december link in my signature) let me know, and also please give me the date for the medicals,
thanks,
Sweden

How on earth that they r still working on 7 november application when i got letter for my app which was sent on NOv 15 and they processed it on 11 december?

Same reason why some of us December applicants got processed within a week or two, yet many October and November applicants are still pending (even today).

I don't believe there is a queue, or at least, not a traditional one.. More straight forward applications must get pushed to the top regularly to keep things moving.

Didn't see this one before, sorry! too many approvals and AOR at the same time! :-)
Congrats on the approval and good luck for stage 2 - I have updated the spreadsheet!

I got my AOR e-mail this morning... fingers crossed for quick approval.

Congrats! CIC starts working on saturdays now, that's a little odd! but great to hear! fingers crossed for a speed approval - but that's already a speedy AOR so the approval should be around the corner!

Thanks very much, Sweden. I believe for US applications, stage 2 gets sent to the foreign office still. In my letter they indicated they would be sending to the foreign office, which is what I had expected.

Please do add me to the spreadsheet. And add our (pitiful) medical date - December 22, 2011. Hoping they will just accept the medical as is and not insist on a new one. (we've been working on the application a while, as you can see)

Cheers,
Snit

Hey Snit,

I 've added you to the spreadsheet. Since the closure of Buffalo office last year, the stage 2 for US applicants has been handled first by Ottawa, for does the very checks, and then (sometimes, not always) sends it to a US visa office for final stage - issuance of visa. But since december 2011 all US applicants have been going through Ottawa first - there is an Outland US thread, and a spreadsheet on the forum, so it's interesting that yours is going to Detroit!

About the medicals - you'll probably have to re-do it. CIC can request an extension of medicals if it's the ONLY issue pending for issuance of visa AND it has been done in the lat 15 months, see here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob423.asp

So you're out of the 15 months scope once your file will be opened by CIC... most likely you will have to re-do a medical... but wait for instructions from CIC because if you do it without them asking for it, you might confuse them and create more delays.

Good luck,
Sweden

So the medical is actually valid for 15 months?

My husband is Canadian citizen and he did inland sponsorship for me.We have two Canadian born children. Previously, I have been given removal order. AOR date is 31 Oct 2012.

If some one can answer my question, will cic process my application and allow me AIP status as I was previously given exclusion order.

thanks
