So my friend's child's birth day on her birth certificate is different than the day shown on all other docs (record of landing, PR card, passport). The year and month is the same, it's just a difference of 10 days in the day of birth. The parents don't want to amend the birth certificate and would like to use the birth date that is listed on all the other docs (which is what the minor's school records show as well). Since the age of the child doesn't really change, it's just a difference of 10 days, would that be fine? I know that a birth certificate is required as part of the required docs, so I was thinking maybe they can simply give an explanation for why the day is different? Especially since the purpose of the birth certificate is used to show the parent's guardianship over the child.

Has anyone of you gone through something like that?

You need to amend the document. The inconsistency will be an issue to the rest of the child's life. They will have problems getting a passport with 2 different dates. Much easier to solve the problem as a baby.

Difference of even one day in the documents is not good. Like mentioned above get things in line. How did they get the PR etc different from date of birth in the birth certificate? Very weird, as the birth certificate is required when applying for PR.

Anyways they should have got it fixed immediately earlier, but should fix it nevertheless. Birth certificate is the official document representing the actual date of birth, other documents should reflect that. Again I'm not sure how or why they can amend the birth certificate as that is the BIRTH CERTIFICATE, unless it was issued with wrong date. But then all documents should have that date, I'm confused :)
