Date of Citizenship: Application to Sponsor and Undertaking (IMM 1344A)

I was born in Canada. The guide doesn't say anything about if you were born in Canada. Do I check the box that says "by descent". I've checked the box that says Canadian Citizen, put the date as my DOB and then put "(DOB)" beside the date field.

Is that right?

I know, sounds like a stupid question but the guide covers everyone except people who are just Canadian because they were born there!

You're right - your date of citizenship is your DOB but just tick citizen. You're not a citizen by descent - 'by descent' means you were born outside of Canada to Canadian parents. As long as you have your birth certificate you should be fine!
